I don't wanna talk about Stop Dreaming Start Action (tidak juga ingin melanjutkan postingan sebelumnya Berawal dari Mimpi Jangan berakhir di Kamar Mandi), because in this post try to share The Jacksons an American Dream Video Youtube. With today's weather forecast looking as miserable as it does, you might as well just stay in. Maybe you've got some summer projects on your mind -- well, now's the time to start them.
For those lacking the time or ideas for a project, and the cash or desire to venture out into such a dreary day, there's always television. So like my hero, Homer Simpson, once said, let us all bask in its warm glowing warming glow.
First, and most time consuming: "The Jacksons: An American Dream" on VH1 at 2 p.m. This 1992 five-hour biopic mini-series stars Angela Bassett as mother Katherine Jackson, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs as tough patriarch Joe Jackson and an array of young actors as the Jackson kids, including a twenty-something Terrance Howard in his very first acting gig.
To be honest, I've never seen "The Jacksons" all the way through, but it's been on in repeats something like a million times since its premiere, so I'm sure I've picked up enough to pass fair judgment. It's an entertaining movie, for sure, but like many five-hour mini-series, it gets pretty dull when the action slows down, which is pretty often.
It's an interesting look into the upbringing of an incredibly popular and kind of notorious family. Also, it has some great musical sequences that feature many of the great Jackson 5 hits from the 1970s. You can also watch it on YouTube, conveniently separated into 25 parts.
